Golden-Poo's

                                                                                        (Golden-Doodles)

Golden-Poo's are a mix breed dog between a female Golden Retriever and a male Standard Poodle. If bred the other way around they would be called Poo-Golden's. The reason a Golden Mom is preferred is because pups take after her more than Dad. If you breed a Golden-Poo with a Golden-Poo you could end up with a litter of 5 Golden Retriever's and 5 Standard Poodles.

Our very own Golden-Poo puppies !

One for you and one for me !

We introduced Golden-Poo's to Ontario in 1993 after much experimentation and hard work by our breeders ( 3 to 5 years worth). We have perfected a non-shedding intelligent, fabulous family pet ! Our puppies look similar to Golden Retrievers, grow to about 70 to 80 lbs., and can get up to 28 in. high at the shoulder. All our puppies have a written guarantee for one full year from purchase, and of course, 7 days for you to see your veterinarian.

                                                                        How to Get Your Puppy!

It is very easy and straight forward!

We will post on the "CURRENT PUPPIES" page, on our upcoming list the date a litter will be ready. That is the date I am picking the puppies up from the breeder. You just phone us at 9 am that morning, reserve a boy or girl and make an appointment for when I am back with the pups. You come see the pups, if you like them you can purchase one and take him/her home. You are welcome to call with any questions.

We'd like to state here, in case it was overlooked in " ABOUT US", that all our puppies are bred in Ontario, Canada. All our breeders have their Kennel licenses and have been inspected at our request. We should also state that it is illegal for a competitor to say and especially to print otherwise. That is called defamation and it certainly makes us wonder why they have to resort to illegal practices to sell their puppies. If nothing else it reflects badly on them and not on us, as our customers have informed us.  Our breeders are the best that Canada has to offer which is why they deal with us!     Also we are not affiliated with any pet store.

Shelby went home on Sept. 22 2001. She is  6 months. old here and our first "Famous" Golden-Poo. She is a model! Our thanks go to Wendy in Montreal, Canada for these great pictures.

An update on Shelby- she is one year old now!

Yankee is a litter mate to Shelby. He belongs to Kim Schillereff and family in New Hampshire. At 9 months. he weighs 63 lbs. He has stayed at that weight for about 2 months. now. Large breed dogs are at their full weight at about 2 yrs. of age. Kim is having problems with Yankee's coat matting. Not unusual in non-shedding coats. Being "HAIR", like our own, it easily mats. Daily grooming and regular hair cuts are a must! Kim is also investing in an " invisible fence" to keep Yankee safe! Good investment! He is just at the age, at 9 months., when he wants to strut his stuff! Teenagers love to be cool dudes! But the most annoying thing about Yankee, according to Kim, is his love for body lotion! He likes to lick it off her arms. Thanks for the updates Kim!

An update on Riley. She is now 15 mnths. old and weighs 65 lbs.. Her colouring is beautiful and everyone always stops us to ask questions. She is very friendly, great with kids and exuberant with life! Thank you Nancy, Joe and Jordan. I appreciate the update! Beautiful pictures!

Mojo was born on April 13th. 2002. His new owner Joy Davis picked him up on June 4th. 2002 and drove home to California with him. They took about 10 days and made a holiday of it. Joy says Mojo slept while driving and played all night in the hotel rooms. Here's a letter from Mojo about his trip!

Buddy, in these pictures, is 2 yrs. old. He was born in the fall of 1998. His owner, Cathy Collis of Toronto, wrote us  Nov. 3rd. 2000. She sent the pictures for Mom's book on Poodle Mixes, which is still " in the works". Cathy wrote: Buddy, at two yrs., weighs about 72 lbs.. He is a great dog with a great disposition! He is wonderful with children and people in general. Buddy is a very intelligent dog and very easy to train. He is so playful and friendly, he interacts beautifully with other dogs. As a bonus, Buddy is a non-shedding dog! Many people often stop me, and ask me what type of dog he is! They always comment that he is beautiful and should be bred more often. Our family is proud & happy to have a dog like Buddy and he is truly a member of our family.

Thanks Cathy. You will get a copy of the book when published!

Vegas is owned by Nevine and Francois Bouzakhm. He was born April 13th. 2002 and now lives in Montreal, Quebec. At 8 wks. of age he weighed 10.75 lbs. Nevine and Francois write- He was very easily trained. He has had two pee accidents since he was 3 mnths. old. He has been taught to ring the bells when he wants to go out! He rings them relentlessly when he is in a hurry! By the time he was 3 mnths. he knew all his basic commands ( sit, down and stay ). His favorite are the ones he can put on a show with (speak, shake hands, high five, play dead and roll over ). People love it and he loves the attention! He is now in his 2nd. level of obedience and his trainer calls him her genius pup! The on-going joke of the class is Vegas is going on to Harvard next! At 3 mnths. of age he weighed 21 lbs. At first Vegas was very shy. Now he gets on well with cats, dogs or just anyone he can use as a playmate! He is also very handsome! We thought we were biased at first but found out different when on vacation. We went to Kennebunkport, Maine and to Cape Cod. Everywhere we went we were stopped. People even stopped their cars to see and photograph him! We must have been stopped about 150 times ( no exaggeration ). Everyone in that area between Sept.3-6 2002 knows what a Golden-Poo is. Vegas at 8 mnths. weighs 49 lbs. We have had no problem with his coat. We brush him twice a week and he keeps well. His color has turned lighter than darker than lighter again. Who knows what he'll end up. He has only been to the groomer once for a light trim. There has been no shedding until now! He has started to shed a little bit. We are hoping it's either the season or his puppy coat. All in all he is the perfect pet! He is healthy, happy, funny, affectionate and keeps on amazing us every day!

        Maggie went home on Dec. 20th. 2002 to Cleveland Ohio. She was picked up by the Bidwell family. They made an excursion of it because it is such a long car ride. Michael writes;

The whole neighborhood has been cast under her spell. They just all love her!   Maggie is about 10 to 11 wks. old in these pictures.

        Hi Sandy and Sheelagh,

Here are some pictures of Bella, our female Golden Poo. I had had knee surgery in November and we brought Bella home 2 weeks after that. She has been a dream from the very beginning.  Her birthday was Sept. 27/02.  Parents were Big Red and the white male, Teddy (I think).  Bella is the sweetest dog, and most gorgeous of course ,in the neighborhood! She is just a joy!

Thank you for our baby! Tory and Andy Wright of Toronto.

This is Buddy. He is 2 weeks shy of his 1 year birthday. He was born May 29th. 2002. He is owned by Richard, Rita and Shlaima Ittleman of Toronto. They say they cannot go anywhere without being accosted by the public. Rita says he loves the outdoors especially the snow. He goes to doggy daycare and loves other dogs and people. He trained really well and fast. He is very playful and energetic. A few times Rita wanted to find another home for Buddy (puppy training faze), but now says she is soo thankful that she didn't. They all love him to death!

                                                Thanks for dropping by guys.

      Hi Sandy,

Attached please find some pictures of Ben.

*******************************************************
We brought Ben home in October 2001, and he has grown to be the biggest, nicest, best dog imaginable.  He weighs in at about 91 pounds today and we call him the Gentle Giant!  He is so tall that he can actually get his mouth on top of the fridge to steal snacks when we're not looking - but other than his healthy appetite, he is very well behaved ;)  He is quite a swimmer, loves to play, and is very popular wherever he goes.

Thank you for providing us with Big Ben!

We got Gypsy from you in May 03 (she was born 3/13/03 & flown to O'Hare on Air Canada) & we can't say enough wonderful things about her.  She's sweet, smart, playful, was easily trained & hasn't shed a hair!!  We just can't wait for her to enjoy our Chicago winters because she did get hot this summer with all that soft, wonderful, "butterscotch" hair.  Here are some photos.  Thanks again for a wonderful addition to our family.

Tucker was brought home in September 2003 by the Gwilliams Family in Toronto.  He is now 5 months old.
He has been an absolute joy.  I am not a person who ever expected to have a dog in my lifetime, but the families wishes won out.  We decided on a Goldiepoo because of the hypoallergenic properties, the
non-shedding nature.  I love him!!!  The allergies are fine - no
problem at all - not even a wheeze!!  And there is not one walk that we
take that we are not asked numerous times what the breed is, he looks
just like a teddy bear.  Wonderful with the kids, and great with the
other dogs in the park, never aggressive, just wants to play.  I can
hardly wait to see him grow up.  Within 3 months of getting Tucker, we
had a second reservation in for another Goldiepoo for Grandma and
Poppy.  We picked up 'Coby' yesterday at Rainbow Park and are so
excited to have a sibling in the family for Tucker to play with.  Thank
you for our puppy!!!!

        My name is Riley. I got my name because I have the 'Life of Riley'. I was adopted into the Bush Family. They have four teenagers named;

                    Stephen          Megan           Shauna   and Shannon

I am a happy gentle dog who loves to play with all the kids. They all love me so much!!!

They also have a cat named Meetsa. She is my live toy!!!!

I was supposed to be only 55 lbs. but somehow I've grown to be 80 lbs. I don't shed and I usually only bark when I want attention. The only bad thing I do is chew socks. YUM!!

Here I am with my cousin Christie. I am the Admiral of the fleet.

Here is a picture of me with my real brother, Bran.

We were both born on September 26th, 2002. I am on the left. Bran and I love to run and play together until our tongues hang down.

See, I really do have the life of Riley!!

     Hi Sandy,
I just wanted to forward over some pics of our beautiful Golden-Poo.  Jersey was born August 17, 2004.  She is a very intelligent and independent little girl. We constantly have to keep reminding ourselves that she is only 4 months old.  She has adjusted very well to her surroundings and loves our Yellow Lab Rio.

                                Enjoy your holidays!
